e bet you can’t say Donald Trump and the word
“ethics” in the same breath. Indeed, nearly a ma- jority of American voters have taken the presidency of this country to a new low.
Even though voters had seen the president curse in public and saying he could shoot someone in public and still be elected president, they voted for him anyway. When he was seen saying he could do anything to a woman and get away with it, voters (especially women) still chose him over a woman. Moreover, when Trump’s opponent was mocked and called a LIAR and PolitiFact proved Trump told two times more lies than any of his other opponents; he was still many voters’ first choice.
And when Trump was seen on television mocking a re- porter with a disability, he was still most voters’ choice. Even though members of the Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups promoted and gave money and public support to Trump’s candidacy, too many voters still chose Trump.
Even more troubling was Trump’s pledge to repeal Obamacare health insurance, voters with no health insur- ance or enrolled in Obamacare still voted for him. Go fig- ure!
The most troubling of all was Trump’s numerous fil- ings of bankruptcy; his failure to pay vendors for work they performed; his failure to release his income tax re- turns (still not released nearly three years later); and the filing of fraud charges against one of his enterprises, vot- ers still chose Trump over someone who did none of these things.
Therefore, other nations can only conclude that Amer- ican voters LOVE “Bad Boys,” going all the way back to movie villains like James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart.
Thus, never again can we criticize political candidates for unethical behavior either at home or abroad. Never again can we criticize a political candidate who tells lies and loses the trust and respect of our allies. Never again will America be seen as a nation that welcomes Brown people who “yearn to be free.” Forget about America being a country of “liberty and justice for all,” even though we are over 400 years old.
Thanks to a lack of ethics, a lack of respect for each other, a breakdown of ethical behavior by business lead- ers and politicians, and a return to overt racism, sexism, and many other “isms,” America will lose its standing in the world population.
By the way, as of 2010, 41 percent of the world’s popu- lation was Brown and Black; 32 percent was Yellow, and 17 percent was beige and olive. It is projected that by 2100, only 7 percent of the world’s population will be White.
So, let’s hope America’s ethics will change along with the color of its skin and the complexion of its humanity.
    They Still Don’t Hear You
   ohn Schnatter, the
founder of Papa John's Pizza, has no problem using the so-called "N-word." That's something we discovered last week when he was removed from his position as chairman of his own company.
Of course, this shouldn't be surprising to anyone. This is the same 50+-year-old white guy who sided with Trump about Black NFL players, re- ferred to as "sons of bitches," who he believed should have been fired from their jobs for not standing for the national anthem.
This isn't someone who you would never imagine using such a derogatory slur. To the contrary, Schnatter's the type of person who proba- bly started saying it not too long after he started growing teeth. And it would be foolish to believe that he's alone in his inbred bigotry.
While people are gearing up to boycott Papa John's be- cause of Schnatter's com- ments, the fact of the matter is
that, a Black person can't buy a box of toothpicks in this country without unknowingly placing money into the pock- ets of individuals who'd rather spit on him than give him the time of day. The only differ- ence between those racists and people like Schnatter is that he was dumb enough to get caught in the act of showing his true colors.
Even though many don't like to admit it, this is the downside of integration. Being exposed to near constant dis- respect is the unintended con- sequence that comes with patronizing white establish- ments on a regular basis. And five decades after it began it seems as though we still haven't learned that, just be- cause someone takes your money, it doesn't mean their feelings will change about you as a result of you making them rich.
What keeps me scratching my head every time one of these exposed-bigot situations occurs is that many of the peo-
ple protesting continue to sup- port other white owned com- panies while still holding picket signs from the rallies they attended, as if Klan mem- bers are only employed by, or own, places like H&M, Star- bucks or Papa John's.
The ugly truth that most try to ignore is that if we boy- cotted every corporation that carried some level of hate in their hearts for Blacks we'd, more than likely, have to do it while butt-naked and starving. And I don't think I'm exagger- ating.
With that being said, to those of you who don't plan on eating at Papa John's anymore because of the controversy, I suggest keeping those boycott #'s handy because I'm sure you'll have another business name to add to them very soon. In the meantime, though, it wouldn't hurt to start looking into investing money into your own pizza parlors, clothing stores and coffee shops.
That way, going forward, you can begin using your en- ergy to build something that will benefit you and yours rather than wasting it by screaming into the direction of those who've proven, time and time again, that they could care less about anything you have to say.

     Does America Like Bad Guys?
    Respect Your Money
In life you attract what you respect...even money.
~Paula White Cain
mpowered Greet-
ings. Respect your money is the topic of discus- sion for today's column. I would like for you to be posi- tioned to win financially. To win with money, you must un- derstand the notion that if you don't respect your money, your money won't respect you.
The value that you place on money or your finances will be shown or made evitable by how you respect or deal with your money. Please note and understand that you are not to love money. For the love of money is the root of all evil.
However, there is nothing wrong with having plenty of money or desiring to have more money than you cur- rently have. Nonetheless, it doesn't matter how large or small your money bag is, just know that you should respect
and value money by being a good steward or manager of the money you do possess.
Oftentimes my articles are designed to challenge readers to develop themselves to rise above their current situation to reach for something more, something bigger and some- thing better. I do this because when you develop yourself in a particular area, it empowers you to succeed in that area, if you apply the knowledge that you have gained.
Many of you have ex- pressed that you want to de- velop yourselves financially. To do so, you must become fi- nancially savvy. As you be- come financially savvy you must identify your perspective on money in the following 3 areas.
• How you deal with money
• What you think about money
• The usefulness of money to you
If you are not attracting money to you or winning fi-
nancially, then it's time for a mental shift. It's time for you to renew your mind as it per- tains to your finances. The next several columns I am going to share tips and strate- gies to position you to win fi- nancially.
