MR. JOHNNY LEE MATTHEWS, SR.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Johnny Lee Matthews, Sr., who entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2017, will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a. m. at New Hope Missionary Bap- tist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Tampa, Florida 33610, Rev. Larry J. Mouton, Jr., Pas- tor, officiating and Rev. James Franklin, Pastor of Mt. Pisgah A. M. E. Church, Webster, Florida Eulogist. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Interment will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by: his sister, Christine Baker; son, Carlton “Squeaky” Matthews; daughter, Lavonia “Cissy” Matthews.
He leaves to cherish memo- ries of him and continue his legacy with: four sons, Johnny Lee (Dorothy) Matthews, Jr., of New York City, NY, Jerome (Al- temease) Matthews of Wesley Chapel, FL, Jeffery “Chad” (Dar- lene) Matthews of Thonotosassa, FL and Lawrence Matthews of Pinellas Park, FL; stepson, Marco Kelly Brown; 10 grand- children; 12 great grandchildren; nephew, Leroy Baker; niece, Car- olyn Thomas and a host of other relatives and friends.
Johnny Lee Matthews, Sr. was born on June 9, 1922 in Plant City, Florida to the late Arthur and Willie Mae Hankins Matthews. He was a longtime resident of Plant City, Tampa and St. Petersburg. He rever- enced God, loved his family and when feeling overwhelmed would cry out “Lord have mercy.” He attended Bethel Bap- tist Church of Plant City and Galilee Missionary Baptist Church of St. Petersburg. Mr. Matthews attended Midway Academy in Plant City, FL and joined the United States Army in 1943. He served in World War II where he engaged in 5 major Campaigns throughout Europe. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1945 he was em- ployed as a Food Service Super- visor at Bay Pines Veteran Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL for 37 years. There he received nu- merous awards for his excellent service and culinary skills.
Mr. Matthews was married to the late Annie Lee Hall Matthews. To this union two children were born. He later united with the late Legurtha Houston and to this union four children were born.
There will be a viewing on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 5-8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida with the family present to receive friends from 6-7 p. m. in the chapel. Friends are asked to assemble at the church at ap-
proximately 10:45 a. m. Saturday for the service.

Quindell was born in Tampa on August 25, 1996 to Quinton Sylvester, Sr. and Veda Virgil. Quindell loved music, playing his Xbox and spending time with family especially his daughter. He graduated from Wesley Chapel High School, where he was known for being a jokester in 2014. He later enrolled at Hillsborough Community College to study Busi- ness Administration. He worked for Papa John Pizza, City of Tampa Parks and Recreation as a Lifeguard and at the time of his death he was employed by Capitol Investors Group, LLC.

Nathaniel Reeves was born June 24, 1944 in Tampa, FL to the late David Oscar Reeves, Sr. and Rachel Hill Reeves. Nathaniel Reeves attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. Nathaniel loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. After he surrendered his life to Jesus, he became a member at New Mt. Zion Missionary Bap- tist Church.
Nathaniel loved his family and his children. He was a good provider for his family and was a devoted employee at Del Monte Warehouse on 7th Av- enue until they closed. He was later employed with Coca Cola Company and Tampa General Hospital.
There will be a viewing on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 5 – 8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida. Friends are asked to as- semble at the church on Satur- day at approximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.
