MR. HENRY POWELL CLANTON
Henry Powell Clanton of Tampa passed away Monday, Jan- uary 13, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Janu- ary 25 at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Minister Imam Rasheed Basheer, officiating. In- terment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Henry Powell Clanton was a native of Forest, Mississippi, born to Charles and Grace Clanton- Wills. He was educated in the pub- lic schools of Mississippi and furthered his education at ITT Technical Institute, where he earned his Associate’s Degree. Henry was employed by RCA prior to becoming an Entrepreneur of Salaam’s Sweet Shop and Black Like Me Boutique. He was also skilled in Masonry and Carpentry. Henry joined the Nation of Islam and was a member of the FOI (Fruit of Islam). He also served as a Civil Rights Activist and Commu- nity Organizer and was a member of the Indiana Black Expo.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Grace Clanton-Wills; twin brothers, Howard and Edward Clanton; stepfather, Sammie Wills; son, Ali
Clanton; and grandson, Wali Clan- ton, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Cora Clanton; loving children, Fatima Clanton, Wali Clanton, Sr., Sana Clanton, (stepchildren), Natalie Panko (Dasril), Anita Robinson, Resa Chapman, and Vougina Hughes; (two children from his previous marriage with Lucy Clanton), Gwendoyln Fay Clanton-Johnson (Thomas) and Lawrence Clanton (Shelia); he also had other chil- dren, Hank Clanton, Diane Clan- ton, and a set of twins; grandchildren, Evernecia Taylor, Everquicia Taylor, Everlecia Tay- lor, Everett Taylor, III, Everkesia Taylor, Ever Taylor, Everett Tay- lor, Jr., Ali Amir Clanton, Alia Clanton, Alaya Jordan, Saniya Mal- phus, Aesha Bailey (Robert), De- shawn Brown, Derraka Murray (Demario), Aja Bradfield (Quin- ton), Indya Kemp (Lewis), Willie Champan, Lamar Chapman, Wes- ley Hamilton, Antonio Powell Jr., Yakima Hughes, Taurus Gadsgen, Jr., Bryce Harris, Barrington Hodges, and Korea Clanton; spe- cial niece, Hannah Ames; and spe- cial grandson, Jose Uruena; Henry’s siblings, Robert Clanton, Sammie Curtis Wills, Lawrence Wills (Luella) and Grace Wills- Graham; nieces and nephews, Ed- ward Clanton, Jeannie Clanton, Eric Clanton, Perpetural Clanton, Keith Clanton, Robin Wills, Catherine Grace Wills, Lawrence Edward Wills, Wesley Graham, Sr. (Cherline) and Wynton Graham, Sr. (Victoria); and a host of other relatives and friends from Indi- anapolis, Indiana, Forest, Missis- sippi, Atlanta, Georgia, Shirley, New York, West Babylon, New York and Wilmington, North Car- olina.

MR. WILLIE C. JOHNSON, SR.
Mr. Willie C. Johnson, Sr., of Tampa passed away Tuesday, Jan- uary 14, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Janu- ary 25, at 2 p. m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 2002 N. Rome Avenue, Reverend Dr. C. T. Kirkland, Pastor, with Reverend Thaddeus Jones, officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Willie C. Johnson was a na- tive of Cuthbert, Georgia and was reared and educated in the public schools of Attapulgus, Georgia, where he graduated from Attapul- gus High School. He relocated to Tampa, Florida at an early age and was a resident for over 60 years. Mr. Johnson accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1965 and was a member of First Baptist Church of West Tampa. Mr. John- son retired as a Steel Worker from Florida Steel Company.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Deacon Frank and Tin- nie Johnson; brother, Deacon Bobby Johnson; sisters, Mary Johnson, Minnie Washington, and twin sister, Willie Bell Haugabook.

Ms. Annie Mae Roundtree of Tampa, passed away Friday, Janu- ary 17, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 25 at 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Me- morial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Av- enue, with Pastor Shanell Keefer. officiating.
Ms. Annie Mae Roundtree was a native of Garfield, Georgia, and was a resident of Tampa for 43 years. She was educated in the public schools of Emanuel County, Georgia and was of the Baptist Faith. She retired as a private duty Certified Nursing Assistant, “CAN.”

MR. EUGENE HAROLD ‘SKIP’ JOHNSON, JR.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Eugene Harold Johnson, Jr., who passed on January 13, 2020, will be held on Sunday, Jan- uary26,2020at2p.m.atMt.Cal- vary S. D. A. Church, 4902 N. 40th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Sen- ior Pastor Curtis B. Crider, offici- ating, Pastor Dr. Antwoyn Mells, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Eugene Harold Johnson, Jr., known to most as “Skip,” was born April 29th, 1957 to the late Eugene Harold Johnson, Sr. and the late Jacquelyn J. Johnson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “Skip” attended Brandon High School. Upon finishing high school, “Skip” joined the United States Army. Skip honorably served his country for a total of ten years.
In 1981 “Skip” met his long- time partner, Debra. This union would go on to produce two daugh- ters, Sophia Monique Johnson and Jacquelyn Breanna Johnson. After the Army, “Skip” worked as a truck driver for AAA Cooper for over 20 years.
After AAA Cooper, “Skip” be- came employed with the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital, where he was affectionately known as “Mr. VA.” While em- ployed at the VA, “Skip” made it his mission to uplift Veterans. “Skip” loved meeting and talking to people. His charismatic person- ality and loving demeanor at- tracted a broad spectrum of longtime friends.
“Skip” was a die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and looked forward to attending weekly Bible Study every Tuesday. “Skip” later joined and got bap- tized at Mount Calvary Seventh- Day Adventist Church.
Eugene Harold Johnson, Jr. (Skip) is survived by: his two daughters, Sophia Monique John- son, Atlanta, GA and Jacquelyn Breanna Johnson, Daytona Beach, FL; two step-sons, Robert “Bobby” Toombs, Derrick Toombs and their mother, Debra Toombs; brother, Daryl Johnson; sister, Danita Bass and brother-in-law, Terrell Bass; a host of aunts and uncles; nieces, Ashli Whitening and her daughter, Amari; nephew, Alex Whitening; and a host of cousins and friends.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, January 24, 2020 from 5 – 8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Sunday at approxi- mately 1:45 p. m. for the service.
