The organizations joining
forces to host the event are: Agape Outreach, Inc., Rays of Hope Community Outreach, and Mother Martha’s Cancer Awareness Foundation.
Earlier this year, Ms. Helen Neal-Ali, Director of Agape Outreach, Inc., and Horace Drew, founder of Rays of Hope Community Outreach, decided to join forces to reach more children in need of mentoring.
Ms. Neal-Ali said, “We have a summer mentoring program that meets Monday and Thursday nights at 7 p.m. We are currently mentoring 37 youth.
These youth have been in- troduced to Bay Area Execu- tives, Sports Idols, Community Leaders and col- lege students who come out to encourage the youth to be all they can be.”
In addition to being edu- cated on community affairs, the youngsters are also given spiritual guidance. The men- toring meetings are held at New Smyrna Full Gospel Cathedral, 5015 N. 17th Street.
