Tampa Attorney Honored Among ‘Florida Legal Elite’
Facebook Users: You Are There Bottomline
According to reports, Facebook had a strong second quarter, reporting revenue of $9.32 billion, up 45 percent from the same period last year, showing that it still does a big advertising business even as revenue growth in that area is slowing.
The social network's second-quarter revenue beat the $9.2 billion that Wall Street was antici- pating. It was the fourth consecutive quarter that year-over-year revenue growth declined. Mobile advertising revenue made up about 87 percent of Facebook's total advertising revenue, an increase of 3 percent.
Earnings per share, which came in at $1.32 for the quarter, also bested the $1.12 per share that analysts were expecting.
Facebook, which is led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, now has 1.32 billion daily active users, up 17 percent year-over-year, and 2.01 billion monthly active users, also up 17 percent.
ATTORNEY ARTHENIA JOYNER ... Vanguard Attorneys
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Recently, the Florida Trend Magazine published its list of attorneys honored as members of the 2017 “Florida Legal Elite.” The organization selected Attorney Arthenia Joyner as one of the 1,080 attorneys chosen for the honor. The list was published in the July 2017 edition of the magazine.
The names of active attor- neys who were nominated were those held in high re- gard by those who have per- sonally worked with them and referred others to them. Those individuals submitted their names for considera- tion. And, from that extensive list, 1,080 names were chosen for the honor.
When contacted by the
Sentinel, Attorney Joyner said, “I was very surprised and honored. I didn’t know that my name had been sub- mitted for the honor and I don’t know who nominated
me. This is really a great honor.”
Michael J. Higer, Pres- ident of the Florida Bar Asso- ciation said, “The Florida Bar is committed to connecting both our members and the public with the legal re- sources needed to support their practices, businesses, and daily lives.
“Florida Trend’s Legal Elite helps accomplish this objective by creating an inde- pendent and reliable process to identify our state’s top legal talent and rising stars.”
Andrew Corty, Pub- lisher of Florida Trend Maga- zine said, “When we first published Florida Legal Elites in 2004, our goal was to pro- vide a resource for our read- ers. ... Florida Legal Elite is a guide to selecting a trusted legal partner to handle deli- cate business concerns.”
The list of attorneys cho- sen represents slightly more than 1 percent of the active Florida Bar members practic- ing in the state.
