‘Hobbs & Shaw’ Looks To Rev $195M+ Worldwide; Opens Friday
The first Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw will gas up overseas tomorrow, and start U. S./Canada pre- views on Thursday at 7PM, but the Dwayne Johnson- Jason Statham vehicle isn’t expected to start off at the top speeds like the last pic in the franchise, Fate of the Furi- ous, which floored it around the world to $541.9M (in- cluding China), but cruise along like a spin-off to about $195M WW, possibly more.
Domestic tracking sees Hobbs & Shaw at 4,200 the- aters in the $60M-$65M range, while rival distribs be- lieve this action pic could rev to $70M-plus. South East Asian markets are a go to- morrow for the David Leitch-directed feature, with major territories like UK,
Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) and Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, directed by David Leitch.
Brazil, Germany, Japan and Russia debuting through Fri- day along with the rest of the world save China, France, Italy and Korea which come later.
The industry is seeing an
initial weekend in the $125M range with upside depending on who shows up. Latin American and Asian audi- ences need to turn out if Hobbs & Shaw is going to fly past these projections
Kodak Black Threatens To Hit Pregnant Yung Miami In Stomach In New Song
Rapper Kodak Black is under fire for his most recent freestyle, in which he claimed he will hit pregnant rapper Yung Miami’s stomach in retaliation for refusing his hand in marriage.
Kodak, 22, has been in- carcerated since May on gun- related charges. However, being locked up hasn’t stopped him from recording and releasing new music via friends who record his allot- ted phone time.
In his most recent rap posted to Instagram, the Florida rapper honed in on his feelings toward Yung Miami of City Girls, who turned down his marriage proposal and announced her pregnancy with Southside of 808 Mafia in June. He re- flected on some of his note- worthy accomplishments, including moving out of the projects, before threatening to assault the pregnant 25-

year-old.
“And I bought Yung
Miami a ring, she wanted 808 baby,” he rapped. “When I see her I’ma hit that bitch in her stomach.”
“The way I keep my s–t too real, they say I’m f–king up my money,” he added.
Southside, 30, turned to his Instagram story to re- spond to the Kodak’s threats. “Hey, somebody tell Kodak suck a d–k! How ’bout that?” he said. “Get up out of jail first, p—y!”
Hobbs & Shaw Star Idris Elba Plays A Super Villian; Wants To See An Origin Story For This Character
Like Thanos, the Etheon Corporation in Hobbs & Shaw wants to wipe out halk of life on Earth so the re- maining people can survive. Though it’s not quite as egal- itarian about it as the Mad Titan...
Instead, Etheon has a virus which will kill the weaker half of the population, leaving the strong to survive. Brixton, the main baddie played by Idris Elba, is the muscle be- hind Etheon’s dastardly plans.
But not all of Brixton’s motivations come from this Darwinistic method of envi-

ronmentalism.
There were "really inter- esting developments within the process" that didn't make it into the film, Elba told re- porters. But they could make it into an origin story – which is how Idris could imagine Brixton returning.
"So we can understand what happened to him prior to this," he explained. "Be- cause he's very much a human being but he has a ro- botic mind, but he has a heart.
"And he also has an ego and he's out of control. It would be nice to figure out where that came from."
Rapper Bankroll Gambino Killed During Philadelphia Music Video Shoot
Police say a rapper killed in a shooting that wounded five other people during a southwest Philadelphia music video shoot may also have been the target of early morning gunfire the same day.
Homicide Capt. Jason Smith said 21-year-old Ezra Weah, known as Bankroll Gambino in rap circles, was one of 10 people trying to film the video when at least two people got out of

a car and opened fire Sunday night.
Weah was pronounced dead at the scene. Five other people were taken to hospi- tals, one still critical Mon- day.
Smith said Weah may have also been shot at while driving his vehicle a couple of miles away shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday. A loaded .380 caliber handgun recovered from Weah’s body had been reported stolen in 2013.
