Richard Sherman Threatens To 'Ruin' Reporter's Career
Shaquille O'Neal Will Be Third Heat Player To Have Jersey Retired
SHAQUILLE O’NEAL
Dwyane Wade remem- bers when he initially heard the rumor that Shaquille O'Neal was coming to the Miami Heat, and how his first reaction was disbelief.
And then came the 18- wheeler that carried O'Neal to his public arrival in Miami, as he happily fired a squirt gun at throngs of screaming fans.
"Wehadavisiontobea championship team," Wade told The Associated Press on Wednesday, "but it wasn't for real for real until Big Fella came and pulled up on that truck."
A grand celebration was had on that day in July 2004. The franchise's first of three NBA championships followed two years later, and the Heat will give O'Neal their version of an ultimate thank you on Thursday night when they raise his No. 32 to the rafters.
He will be the third Heat player to get such an honor, joining Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway.
"I said, 'I promise I'm going to bring a championship here,'" O'Neal said. "And we did."
Floyd Mayweather's Net Worth: $340M In 2016
Floyd May- weather ranked No. 34 (tied with Jessica Alba) in Forbes 2016 look at the 40 Richest En- trepreneurs Under 40 with a net worth of $340 million.
Mayweather,
who turns 40 in February, makes
the cut for the first
time in the annual
list. He is sand-
wiched between NBA legend Kobe Bryant and Tom Preston-Werner, co- founder of online platform GitHub.
Mayweather's fortune was built on 12 straight blockbuster payouts of at least $25 million since he be- came the biggest pay-per- view star in the sport after his 2007 split decision win over Oscar De La Hoya. That fight generated 2.5 million PPV buys, the most in the history of the sport to that point.
Money Mayweather’s
earnings got an added boost through his creation of May- weather Promotions in 2007. The move allowed May- weather to cut out the mid- dleman and keep both the boxing and promotion fees for his fights. Mayweather had an opt-out clause in his contract with Top Rank that let him out of his promotion deal with the company for $750,000. He exercised the option in 2006. “Floyd walked into Top Rank’s of- fice, handed them a check and the rest is history,”
Richard Sherman is back in the news for all the wrong reasons.
The Seahawks cornerback on Tuesday threatened to "ruin" a local reporter's ca- reer after "a couple of tough questions," per Stephen Cohen of the Seattle Post In- telligencer.
The scene turned hot when Jim Moore of 710 ESPN asked Sherman about his nationally televised sideline blowup at offensive coordi- nator Darrell Bevell during last Thursday's win over the Rams.
"No," Sherman told Moore, saying: "I just had a -- we had a -- prior experi- ence (the Super Bowl) so we talked about that. But let me guess -- you have a better play to call. Let me guess, you have a better experience."
According to Bob Con- dotta of The Seattle Times, Moore "told Sherman that he didn't understand that Bevell is trying to call plays he thinks will work but that Sherman thinks he has a 'better handle' of what should be called."
When Moore responded "no," Sherman told him: "Then you should probably kind of stop."
The All-Pro defender then passed Moore on his way back to the locker room and

told the reporter: "You don't want to go there. You do not. I'll ruin your career."
Per Condotta, Moore asked Sherman: "You'll ruin my career? How are you going to do that?"
"I'll make sure you don't get your media pass any- more," Sherman said.
"Is that right?" Moore asked.
"Yes, it is," Sherman said.
Here's the deal with player access: Sherman isn't re- quired to answer every ques- tion asked by reporters. In turn, reporters aren't re- quired to absorb threats from players about having their ac- cess pulled and their careers left in "ruin."
This time around, it's not an exchange Sherman can simply shrug off.
Sherman later apolo- gized for the incident on Twitter.
Floyd Mayweather walks in the ring during his final fight against Andre Berto at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Sept. 2015.
Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson Is A Dad
Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, told Forbes last year.
His biggest payday came in May 2015 for his bout against Manny Pacquiao, which was six years in the making. The much-hyped fight largely disappointed the paying audience, but it set multiple boxing records, in- cluding PPV buys (4.6 mil- lion), total gate ($73 million) and sponsorships ($13 mil- lion). The fight grossed more than $600 million and was the highest-grossing, single- day sporting eventever. May- weather's take: $240 million.
Mayweather retired after defeating Andre Berto in September 2015. The fight pushed his career earnings to $700 million and his career mark in the ring to an un- blemished 49-0, matching the all-time record of Rocky Marciano. Rumors of a Mayweather comeback continue to swirl. May- weather fueled them in June when he trademarked TMT 50 and TBE 50, which stand for "The Money Team" and "The Best Ever.
Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson is now a father! Thompson’s ex- girlfriend, Jordan Craig, has given birth to their child, according to E! News.
Their son was given the name Prince Oliver Craig Thompson. Thompson, who is now dating Khloe Kardashian, has not ad- dressed the news yet, and nei- ther has Craig.
Despite being silent about the birth of her child, Craig documented part of her preg- nancy journey on Instagram. The model posted photos and videos of her baby shower. She also shared her excite- ment over seeing the baby.
Thompson has not com- mented on anything related to the pregnancy, but his fa- ther, Trevor Thompson, reportedly is on Craig’s side and wishes the baby will “open the eyes” of his son.
Kardashian knows of the situation, according to Us Weekly, and is fine about the situation. A source close to the “Keeping Up With the
TRISTAN THOMPSON
Kardashians” star said she is enjoying her time with the baller and does not want any type of drama to ruin the fun they are having.
The relationship has not been devoid of drama, though. There have been ru- mors saying Kardashian and Craig do not get along well. Craig is said to be un- happy about Kardashian wanting to spend a lot of time with Thompson. Kar- dashian’s makeup artist, Joyce Bonelli, also report- edly took a jab at Craig on Instagram, implying that the model only got together with Thompson for money and fame.
