• Comprehensive training for customers
has continued through 2024, with record
numbers being trained across Aico’s
multiple training options and their
training pathway for installers.
• Expert Installer training continues to have
strong demand, with 15,573 installers
trained through 2024. These installers
are also listed on the Aico website for
homeowners to search for when looking
for someone to install an alarm system.
• Aico Installer Community online also
continues to grow with over 6,065
installers continuing their training online
following on from the face-to-face Expert
Installer sessions as well as contributing
to the online forum and earning rewards.
• Over 945 customers have completed
Aico’s City and Guilds Assured
Qualification in domestic fire and CO
alarm systems at Aico headquarters
through 2024.
• The above provides a continued
training path with Aico HomeLINK for
customers, progressing from Expert
Installer > Aico Installer Community
Online > City and Guilds.
•
2024 saw dedicated Social Housing Professionals
Network Roadshow events across the UK, with key social
housing customers from across the UK attending. Topics
included a dedicated keynote session from housing sector
legal advisors providing a legal perspective on access,
building safety and damp and mould – key challenge
areas for the industry.
•
The events also facilitated opportunities for social
housing providers to network, collaborate and share best
practices.
•
Over the 15 events across the UK, 800 social housing
providers attended representing 300 social housing
organisations.
•
Following on from the update to the private rented
regulations in Northern Ireland, a dedicated two week
roadshow of events was carried out at key locations
across Northern Ireland highlighting the changes and
offering support to customers.
•
Multiple campaigns were carried out to raise awareness
with customers:
o Healthy Homes, Healthy Places week in collaboration
with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).
o Damp and Mould Action and Awareness Week.
o Give Fuel Poverty A Voice in collaboration with Inside
Housing.
o National Social Housing Safety and Compliance Week.
•
Valued customer events for key customers from all
distributor buying groups were also conducted which
saw customers visiting Ei for a full factory tour along
with a series of market presentations and a hands on
product demo session. Feedback from these visits
was extremely positive, with the events cementing the
customer understanding of the quality, reliability and
performance of every single product we manufacture – a
key differentiator versus competitors.
• Aico won multiple awards through the course of 2024 including:
o Better Society Awards – Partnership with A Local Charity.
o Housing Technology Awards – Customer/Tenant Services, Poplar Harca
(HomeLINK).
o ASCP Safety and Compliance Awards – Best Supplier To The Social
Housing Sector.
o Electrical Review Excellence Awards – Training Provider Of The Year.
o CHIP Awards – Social Value Employer Of The Year.
o Northern Housing Awards – Supplier Of The Year.
o Northern Housing Awards – Best Transformation Programme.

Aico hosted their dedicated
bi-annual Community Awards
which celebrates excellence
within the social housing industry
and local community. Over
400 guests attended, with the
awards showcasing inspirational
colleagues, projects, and
innovations and honouring the
outstanding work of individuals
and organisations across the
UK. The event also supported
the Electrical Industries Charity
(EIC), the charity of the UK
electrical industry.
•
The ‘Project SOS’ community
initiative for 2024 supported The
Oswestry Memorial Hall, a key
local venue that is a community hub
for local groups and organisations,
hosting clubs and events including
a weekly artisan country market,
singing and dance lessons for local
groups, business meetings, training
events and more.
•
17 colleagues from Aico
undertook the week long initiative
to rejuvenate and refurbish their
internal spaces, providing a
revitalised community space for
all.
•
Dedicated CSR events were
carried out throughout the year
including support of Willowdene
Rehabilitation and Training
– a unique local organisation
that offers a variety of services
focused on life transformation for
individuals facing challenges such
as substance misuse, offending
behaviours and other barriers to
stability and purpose.
•
The centre provides training,
workshops, and residential
accommodations with programs
integrating therapeutic support,
vocational training, life-skills
development, and real-world
work experience. Aico colleagues
supported across multiple visits,
helping them to develop their new
Craft and Wellbeing Centre.
•
There have been over 2,000
students supported via over
40 educational visits through
2024, including those in primary
schools, secondary schools and
colleges. This has been a mix of
pupils visiting Aico for a day of
education workshops including
education around fire safety.
Colleagues have also been out
visiting schools to carry out
careers based support activities
such as mock interviews, careers
based workshops and careers fairs.
•
Local schools have also been
supported through work
experience placements at
Aico, covering areas including
Marketing, IT, Technical Support
and Product Development.
