fi nd yours. Ask to see a variety of shades – or even
colours – to see which make you look
your best...
Although the range of styles and designs
may seem limitless, there are, in fact,
seven basic dress shapes; Princess [or
A-line], Ball Gown, Empire, Mermaid,
Trumpet, Tea [or Ballerina] length and
Column [or sheath]. Understanding
the shapes which are best suited to
your build will help you know what you
are looking for before you even begin
shopping.
One more thing to think about – the back
of your dress. During the service, your
guests are going to be looking at this for
quite a while, so remember to consider
how it will appear to them. Embroidery,
beading and other details will make a
beautiful picture, but what about the
fastening too?
Tiny pearl or silk-covered buttons are a
dainty addition; or perhaps an intricately
laced-up design might be more suited to
your dress style. When you are looking
in the mirror in the bridal wear shop, ask
your friends to tell you whether or not
you look just as beautiful from the back.
Attention to detail is what makes for a
memorable, beautiful dress.
