A helpful checklist to plan your wedding day
You’re engaged... congratulations! Now where to begin? We have provided a checklist to guide you through the planning process. We included special tips and hints just for Stony Point Hall. Start planning your wedding and let us help you...Your Day, Your Way
You’re Engaged!
Determine your budget
Start gathering names and addresses for your guest list (our occupancy is 299)
Narrow down your potential date by season or date. (Remember: Couples tend to reserve Stony Point Hall 12-18 months in advance) Schedule a tour of the venue using our convenient online calendar or call
You’ve toured the venue
Now is the time to talk with close family and friends to verify your preferred date
Contact vendors such as photographers, verify they are available on the date
Contact the venue to make sure your date is still available
Secure the venue and date by placing your deposit
12 months before
Organize and start creating your vision. Pinterest is a wonderful place to start visioning your wedding.
Hire a photographer. Don’t procrastinate - many are booked a year in advance!
Choose your bridal party and attendants Create a website
Schedule engagement photos - this is a great way to get comfortable with your photographer. You are welcome to take photos at Stony Point Hall
Book a caterer, DJ, and/or wedding planner Research/Schedule meetings with other vendors. Whew, you can do this now because you have a reserved date.

Send out “Save the Dates”
Start shopping for your dress
Finalize your vendors! Photographer, Floral Designer, Cake Designer, DJ, Transportation, Invitation/stationery.
Create your gift registry - choose at least 3 retailers
Reserve hotel blocks for out of town guests - choose 2-3 hotels at different price points Start planning a honeymoon
Shop for bridesmaids’ dresses
6 months before
Book your stylists for hair and makeup Book your officiant
Schedule dress fitting
Reserve men’s formal wear
Schedule hair and makeup appointments for you and your wedding party
Tie up loose ends with:
Guest list – Collect names/addresses
and create a spreadsheet Invitations - finalize wording,
consider other stationary such as programs, menu cards, place cards, thank you cards
Ceremony readings and vows Reception timeline, dinner, toasts,
first dance, cake cutting
Purchase wedding rings
Plan your wedding shower Choose ceremony and reception
