Above left: On a quiet day, the café is a peaceful spot for a cup of coffee and a scone surrounded by the woods. Above center: This horse is one
of four card players at a “stag” party, seated round a wagon wheel table. Above right: The jail is featured in the Nervous Nellie Story. Its bars came
from the old Lewiston prison.
When you have finished slaying dragons, drinking sarsaparilla with cowboys, or rescuing damsels in distress, don’t forget to stop by
the café and wet your whistle with a cold beverage and a delicious fresh-baked scone. The café at Nervous Nellie’s is located at 598
Sunshine Road, Deer Isle and is open throughout the year Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to their delicious jams, jellies,
chutneys and home-backed goodness, the café also sells copies of Peter’s self-published book series featuring Nervous Nellie, the red
bird from the jar label. There are currently eight episodes in print and a ninth and tenth in production. For more information or to
order directly please visit www.nervousnellies.com.
