4- How to search online

Searching safely (نامأب ثحبلا):
Use the safety features of browsers like:
- browsers that warn users when enter an unsafe site or download a
harmful app.
- If you get a warning message, don’t proceed to the site or with the download.

(Ask your teacher or a family member).
- Choose browsers that have search engine for children and a parental control
app.
- Choose child-friendly websites that include filters to avoid you clicking on
appropriate videos.

Searching smartly (ءاكذو ةيلعافب ثحبلا):
- Type longer phrases, not just a couple of words (بسانملا ر ببعتلا بتكا).
- Don’t use too general words (ةماع تاملك مدختستلا).

Types of search

- Search engines ignore some words like (the, and, how, where, or), To include
them add a (+) sign before the word.
- If you want to avoid unwanted results, just type (-) sign before words you would
like to avoid.

- If you are searching for a particular phrase, just put the phrase inside quotation
marks (“ “).
