MESSAGE FROM THE 2021 MICHIIGAN DISTRICT CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN
Greetings Brothers of the Mighty Michigan District!
After months of preparation, even in the midst of this pandemic, it is my honor to welcome you to the 2021 Michigan District Conference and to Saginaw (County) in the beautiful Great Lakes Bay Region. Hosting a Conference of this magnitude is a tremendous undertaking. I would like to thank the Brothers of Iota Chi Lambda chapter, Rho Delta chapter and the Michigan District leadership team, for their assistance in the planning and execution of this conference.
This is a special weekend for Brothers in the state of Michigan, as it represents -- for some -- the first time in a while that we are meeting face-to-face to fellowship and conduct the business of Alpha. This is also a special weekend for Iota Chi Lambda chapter, as the chapter
celebrates its 50th Anniversary servicing the Saginaw communities.
The theme of this year’s conference is “21st Century Reconstruction – Alpha Edition”. Just as our nation needed social and economic reunification and repair during the Reconstruction Era (1865 – 1877) following the Civil War, the COVID-19 pandemic and social injustice has inflicted a tremendous toll on our nation and specifically, our communities. This conference seeks to address the emotional and physical toll many of us have experienced through offering workshops designed to inform, equip and challenge the men of Alpha to identify and act. Our communities, more than anytime before, need more willing men and women to attack these challenges. As Jesus said in Matthew 23:11, “ ... the greatest among you will be shall be your servant”. And for Alpha Men, we are “First of All, Servants of All”, and we “Shall Transcend All”!
