I greet you, Brothers, in the name of Alpha!
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 2021 Michigan District
Conference. Pursuant to a two-year, COVID-inflicted hiatus, it is refreshing to personally engage with long-term members of our distinguished organization as well as with Brothers attending their very first District Conference. Each of you bring unique talents and experiences to our great Fraternity, and I am particularly grateful to be a part of this phenomenal brotherhood.
As you may fondly remember, Alpha Phi Alpha must always be prepared to meet conditions as they confront us in a changing world. To that end, this year’s conference theme -- 21st Century Reconstruction – Alpha Edition -- seeks to remind us that the challenges facing our communities today are not far removed from similar conditions prevalent during the Reconstruction Era following the Civil War. In addition to providing insight on improving mental, emotional and physical health associated with these conditions, this
conference will offer ample opportunities to network with Brothers of the Mighty Michigan District.
I offer a sincere “thank you” to the host chapters, Iota Chi Lambda and Rho Delta, for their diligence in presenting this conference. A special CONGRATULATIONS is extended to Iota Chi
Lambda Chapter on its 50 Year anniversary.
