To The Men of Distinction of the Mighty Michigan District:
Greetings and Salutations! As the South Central Area Director, it is an honor
and a privilege to welcome you to the 2024 Michigan District Conference in
the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, Michigan area. The South Central Area comprises
three Chapters, two of which are your hosts: Theta Zeta Lambda, Alumni
Chapter seated in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Epsilon Chapter, the “Mother of
the Midwest,” at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and Epsilon Eta
Chapter at Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan. We are excited
to host you at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor Charter
Township, Michigan on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
Our theme: “Standing on Business: Built Through Brotherhood,” embodies our intentional effort to include
brothers, both Alumni and College, in the work and legacy of our dear Fraternity. We are embarking on a
renewed effort to be “First of All, Servants of All, We shall Transcend All” in both Alumni and College, through
across the board efforts to implement our four National Programs individually and in partnership with each
other. Theta Zeta Lambda remains steadfast in its commitment to serve Washtenaw County and broader
communities in collaboration with Epsilon Chapter at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and in the future,
a renewed effort with Epsilon Eta Chapter at Eastern Michigan University. We are intentional in our mission to
“Develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our
communities.” It is our expressed desire that this conference furthers this mission.
During this Conference, let us commit to renew our fraternal spirit, strengthen our bonds, and unite in service
to our communities and one another. We must never forget the sacrifices our predecessors have made for us to
be here. As such, we must strive Onward and Upward to fulfill the charge that we have so willingly accepted.
May we depart this place emboldened to enact manly deeds, mature our scholarship and demonstrate our love
for all mankind in unity and a bond of peace. We can do this Brothers because we are Men of Distinction. We
are Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated!
