Event FAQ

1. Location of the event: Commodore Barry Park, Flushing Avenue and N. Elliot Place,
Brooklyn, NY 11201 https://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/commodore-barry-
park/history

2. Where is parking located and what is reimbursement? There is no on-site
parking for this event. It is best to take public transportation.

3. How will we be reimbursed for food? The shift hours are designed so that no lunch
breaks are needed – there will be no reimbursement for food.

4. How do we retrieve access to the tent? We will have exhibit badges at the tent. Prior
to the festival opening, please contact Alisa Joseph at 704-222-7758 and provide
your text information so that a convenient location can be provided to receive badges
for entry. Once the festival opens, you can come directly to our senior tent for your
shift.

5. What should we wear? AARP red volunteer shirts. For those that don’t have t-shirts
you can connect with Alisa Joseph and/or obtain shirts at the venue.

6. Where is the tent located? The AARP tent is located in Activism Row off Flushing
Avenue.

7. What entrance is the best/closest entrance – Flushing Avenue

8. What happens if we cannot reach a staffer prior to our shift? Who do we call? –
Contact Alisa Joseph (704-222-7758).

9. What time should we be there? You should be there 20-30 minutes before your shift
begins. For Saturday, August 24, 2019, please arrive at 10:00 A.M. to stuff bags and
finalize booth setup.
