On the contrary, a dependent clause is a clause that cannot stand alone, meaning that it
requires a main clause (main clause) to produce a solid meaning.

Then, to form cause and effect sentences, we need linking words. However, in a cause and
effect relationship, more people call it signal words or causal linking.

Signal Words in Cause and Effect Relationship

So, linking words are words that connect one idea to another in a sentence (connecting words).
The term linking words is more general.

Meanwhile, signal words and causal linking are connectors in the form of words/phrases that can
be used in cause and effect sentences. Yes, the function is actually the same, only the mention or
definition is different.

Actually there are many types of signal words in English, there are signal words addition, signal
words similarities, signal words differences, including signal words which express cause and
effect.
