 2023 DIOCESAN ANNUAL
Thomas Sunday
in Boise, Idaho
rd
On Thomas Sunday, April 23 , the Serbian
Community in Boise, Idaho, celebrated their
Slava, Holy Resurrection, and welcomed Bish- op Maxim to serve the Divine Liturgy on this day, also known as Antipascha.
The celebration was held at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Constantine and Helen, where His Grace Bishop Maxim was assisted by Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes from the Greek Archdioceses and Archimandrite Nikifor Milovic, who administers and serves the parish of the Resurrection of Christ in Boise.
The Divine Liturgy was attended by a large num- ber of people who received Holy Communion, fol- lowed by the cutting of the Slava cake and a banquet prepared by this year’s kumovi, Boris and Sonja Roso, and their family.
Bishop Maxim extended his Paschal wishes and Slava greetings to the faithful gathered and expressed his gratitude to Fr. Nektarios for his continued sup- port for the Serbian community in Boise. He also
highlighted his spiritual connection with the shrines in Kosovo and Metohija, which he regularly visits and collects aid for.
After a delicious lunch in the parish hall, the Salt Lake City parish folklore group added to the festivities with their presence and dance, having prepared a spe- cial program for the occasion. Their performance en- tertained everyone present, with the support of twen- ty parishioners from Salt Lake City who traveled to Boise to participate in the Eucharistic gathering and attend the parish celebration.
