to not boast
Lord, forgive me for betraying Love!
When I give alms, I want my spiritual father and
others around me to know and praise me!
Help me realize that “You give everything and You
take everything,” as Your blessed and grace-filled
servant, Saint Father Dimitrios Gagastathis, used to
say!
I have nothing of my own!
I sacrifice nothing when I give something to my fel-
low human!
Yes, in reality, I give nothing,
It is You who gives everything!
Help me truly to understand this and stop boasting!
