With any work equipment you should make sure that any
person using the equipment has had the relevant training
to complete the task.

A tube fabrication company has been fined after a worker had
a finger severed in machinery. Magistrates’ Court heard an
employee was operating a metal cutting saw when his right hand
came into contact with the machinery, severing part of his index finger.
An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into the
incident found that the risk assessment did not identify the hazard
and failed to implement effective action.
