Overseer/Topman Confined Space Entry Training

DESCRIPTION

This confined space training course is designed for those who will supervise operatives entering and working in high risk confined spaces but who will not enter
themselves. The course also covers dealing with emergencies in confined spaces. It involves both theoretical and practical elements and includes an assessed
practical exercise.

DURATION
2 days (if candidate has completed high risk confined space entry course) or 4 days
TYPE OF CERTIFICATE
Reece Accredititaion including a certification on completion
City and Guilds (City and Guilds registration incurs a £38pp charge)

SYLLABUS LEARNING OUTCOMES
The subjects covered on this course are;
• Legislation recognition & classification • Prepare to act as safety attendant for teams working in confined spaces
• Safe systems of work, risk assessments • Oversee safe entry & exit to confined spaces
and permits to work • Monitor work team to ensure procedures are followed
• Emergency arrangements & rescue planning • Prepare for and deal with emergencies
• Lockout procedures and equipment • Use appropriate behaviour for carrying out top man work in high risk confined spaces
• Confined space roles and responsibilities • Apply relevant standards for carrying out top man work in high risk confined spaces
• Equipment overview including; escapes sets, self-
contained breathing apparatus, gas
monitors,communication, tripods, davits,
winches and retrieval blocks
• Assessment on the management of a practical entry

COURSE DETAIL
• Reasonable level of fitness required CALL US
• Must speak fluent English
• Please wear steel toe capped work
shoes and standard workwear
• Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided and quote
