Lighting
To work safely in confined spaces as per the ACOP -
“Adequate and suitable lighting, including emergency lighting, should be provided. For example, the
lighting should be specially protected if used where flammable or potentially explosive atmospheres are
likely to occur. Other gases may be present that could break down thermally on the unprotected hot
surfaces of a lighting system and produce other toxic products. Lighting may need to be protected
against knocks (eg by a wire cage), and /or be waterproof. The position of lighting may also be
important, for example to give ample clearance for work or rescue to be carried out unobstructed.”
ATEX ZONE 0 PORTABLE LIGHTING
Our range of lighting is designed and tested to comply with requirements to safely operate in Zone 0 where ignitable concentrations
of flammable gases, vapours or liquids are present continuously or for long periods of time under normal operating conditions.

Regulation 15 of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 states;
“The purpose of the regulation is to ensure that sufficient space, access and adequate illumination are
provided while people are working on, at or near electrical equipment so that they may work safely. The
requirement is not restricted to those circumstances where live conductors are exposed, but applies
where any work is being done in circumstances which may give rise to danger.”
