7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is
                                                                                         8
given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of
the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
                                 9
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits,
to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of
                          11
tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one,
                  just as he determines.

In most churches in America, 20 percent of the church members do 80 percent of the
work. But God never intended it to be that way. God intends all Christians to use their
spiritual gifts to advance the work of the church.

1 Corinthians 12:7. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common

                  good.

                                What is your Spiritual Gift?

The three primary Scriptures that identify Spiritual Gifts are: Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-
                  11, and Ephesians 4:11-13.

What are some practical ways to discover our Gift(s)?
(1). We discover our gifts by our desires and abilities.
(2). We discover our gifts by serving.

(3). We discover our gifts through recognition from others.
(4). We discover our gifts by effectiveness.

2 Timothy 1:8. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, his prisoner.
Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.

What does Paul mean when he says, “join me in suffering?”
[Life Application Bible] In this time of mounting persecution, Timothy may have been
afraid to continue preaching the gospel. His fears were because believers were being
arrested and executed. Paul told Timothy to expect persecution – Timothy, like Paul,
was later arrested for preaching the gospel.

Hebrews 13:23. I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives
soon, I will come with him to see you.

Paul promised Timothy that God would give him strength and that he would be ready when it was time to suffer.
