Let’s get Personal…
We live in the realm of probability. If something is likely to occur, we may take the chance to obtain it.
For example, people purchase lottery tickets with the hope that they will win a large sum of money.
However, if those people investigated the probability of them winning the money, they would find there
was less than two million to one that they would win. So most likely they will waste their money and
NOT win.
Gambling involves probability. People gamble their money in hopes of obtaining larger returns, even
though the odds are against them. Young people engage in illicit sexual activity, hoping that they will
not get pregnant or get a disease. They are gambling against the odds. They think they may or may not
suffer the consequences of their actions. They use probability to see if they will have to pay for their
disobedience.
We make decisions based on probability. We figure out what advantages and disadvantages a certain
decision may involve, and based on the results, select a certain path.
However, God wants us to allow HIM to determine our path. Prov. 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all
your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to Him, and he will direct
your paths.”
Have you trusted the Lord in every decision you make? If not, today is a good day to start!
