              Verbs which are followed by a gerund

               ( 'ing' form of a verb) :

              Verbs which can be followed by a 'to-' infinitive or a

              gerund :



               begin                     love                      start                    continue


               hate                      prefer                    stop                     forget

               like                      remember                  try




               Passive Voice



              The passive voice is formed by using the appropriate form
              of verb ‘to be' + past participle.



              simple present     'am/are/is' + past participle

              Many celebrities on to look magazine covers are airbrushed slimmer
              and prettier.



              simple past        'was/were' + past participle
              My eldest brother was invited to a job interview yesterday.



              present continuous  'am/are/is' + 'being' + past participle
              The fireworks display is being broadcast live on TV.
