The Young Latino Voter
Sanders generated energy and support from young Latinos by recognizing the need to lift up Hispanics and other
minorities as central players to the country’s future. In line with young Latino priorities, Sanders advocated for
inclusivity above all else and bucked moderate political norms that many other candidates ignored. Young Latinos are
looking for leaders who stick their necks out for their community with bold ideas to make real change at any cost.
Biden is now the leading choice over Trump among young Latinos; however, he will need to rouse enthusiasm, so
they come to the polls to support him in November as they supported Sanders in the primaries.

Bernie Sanders gained support from young Latinos by understanding and addressing their priorities and investing
heavily in digital messaging using social media like YouTube, Hulu and Pandora. Sanders was also reported to have
top-notch outreach initiatives disproportionately staffed with locally-based Latinos and people of color conducting
outreach using texts, phone calls and door-to-door visits.
