Director, Security 2020 was a unique year for everyone across

the world. We were prepared for full
deployment to Japan for the scheduled
Olympics in June before they were abruptly
canceled. As 2021 came around and the
Olympics came back on schedule, many
factors changed. Fewer employees were
expected to travel and many restrictions
were implemented for everyone traveling
to Japan. As Director of Security for
NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, I was
tasked with preparing a security plan for all
our employees and talent scheduled to
travel to Tokyo and for those at Telemundo
Center. As such, I have been preparing for a
Global Security presence at our
headquarters with 24-hour security
coverage, due to the 13-hour difference
between Tokyo and Miami. In addition, I was
tasked with coordinating all access for the
different business units that will be working
out of Telemundo Center for the Olympics.
This will be the first time I work the Olympics
and am excited for what’s to come in
Japan!
