CHAPTER 1
HOW THE IMPS TOOK OVER THE LAND OF THE HEART
Many years ago, back in the old days, magical powers inhabited the earth.
People, adults and children, could use these powers any time they needed
them. The magical powers, as their name implies, helped people with anything
they needed. When someone faced a problem or a difficult task they would
immediately summon a magical power from deep inside their heart, and it
would come to their help at once. A different kind of creature also lived among
us back then – imps. These were creatures that caused nothing but trouble,
and since they were unwanted among humans, they lived in remote villages
far beyond mountains and rivers, in a secluded place called the Land of Imps.
