THE MAGICAL POWERS OF THE HEART
The magical powers within us are the powers of the ego and the healing and directing forces of the
soul, that enable us to cope with external and internal difficulties and spur us to develop and grow.
Among them are The Power to Believe in Myself, The Power to Be King and Not a Victim, The Power
to Accept Boundaries, The Power to Trust Others and Rely on Others and The Power to Change. The
very “discovery” of these powers and the opportunity to examine and name them reinforces one’s
self-image and the capacity for self-regulation. In this process, one may be greatly empowered by
practicing the use of these powers and finding ways to enhance them.

 THE IMPS
The imps are an image for impulses, urges, feelings and patterns of thought and behavior, that
when “over taken “ by them, lead us to behave or feel in a way that hurts us or people around us.
Among them are the Imp of Anger, the Imp of Impatience, the Imp of Victimization and the Imp of
Criticism. The use of the term “imp” enables us to “externalize” these aspects and thus view them
as only one element of our entire being, rather than something that defines us.
This term also paves the way to a lighter and less threatening dialogue with aspects experienced
as negative, making it easier to take responsibility and control them. This process helps change
negative thoughts, allows for ‘reframing’ (changing perspective) and strengthens the ability to
 transform them into positive forces.

I have collected the names and definitions of the magical powers and imps over ten years of work
with patients aged 5-70 who helped me discover more and more magical powers and identify
more and more devious imps in my and their psyche and soul.
The book “A Journey to the Land of Imps” and the “Soul Creatures’ Land” cards are also excellent
for enhancing the dialogue between parents and children, and emotional discourse in class.
