BLESSING OF CHILDREN (Into a newly-blended family)

Officiant addresses each child by name:
<Child/Children> by this marriage, a new family is created. You

have already been family together, from this day forward the
only difference will be that it is now legal. Will you then continue

to give your love, trust, and respect to your parents?

Response - [Each child]: I will, with the help of God. (Note:
“With the help of God” may be omitted)

                                                      Officiant addresses the Couple:

<Couple’s Names>, will you be faithful and loving parents to
                                                      <Child/Children>?

Couple Responds: We will, with the help of God. (Note: “With
the help of God” may be omitted)

        The Children’s Pledge

(Officiant, to children): <Couple’s Names> share a love that has withstood all the ups and downs life give us, but
most importantly, they share you as their beloved child(ren). You are also part of this shared life together. A
famous writer named Richard Bach said this: “Sometimes the bond that links true family is one of respect and joy

in each other's life.” In other words, sometimes families are made in the heart. And, you are the heart of this

        family!

So, before I pronounce <Names> married, I ask you,
will you also pledge to do your very best to create a happy home? Do you promise to honor and respect

<Names> as your parents, and to share with them your hopes, your dreams and your troubles with friends or
        school, when you have them?

         Child(ren) replies: I do
