                                            The Rock Ceremony

Officiant to couple: Before you met, your lives were on different paths

with different destinations. Love brought you together and joined your
separate paths into one. Each of your friends and family here today have

selected a rock that represents their presence at your wedding today. You

also each have a rock which you selected to symbolize your separate lives
and the separate life's journeys you once traveled. I will now ask that

everyone please take out your rock and make a wish or blessing for <Bride
and Groom> and the future of their marriage. Everyone pauses to make

their wish. Now, we will collect the rocks and the couple will then add
their rocks to the container also. With the combining of these rocks, you

have now symbolically joined your once separate lives. As the rocks filled

family joined, through you, into one. And your once solitary life's paths are also now one. All that was once

separate is now shared, and in this sharing you both will find new strength and joy as together you forge a new
        life's path and destination.

        Unity Candle
The two outside tapers represent the two individual lives of

<Groom and Bride>. As they join now in marriage, there is a
merging of these two lights into one light, these two lives into

one shared life. The lighting of the Unity Candle represents

the oneness of this union and the eternal flame of love that
                                                burns within these

                                                two hearts.
                                                <Bride and Groom>

as you have joined your two lives together as husband and wife, may
this candle symbolize your two hearts united in one life. From now on

your thoughts shall be for each other, your plans shall be mutual, your

joys and sorrows shall be shared alike. As you each take a candle and
together light the center one, you will extinguish your own candles.

(Bride and Groom light the candles, then return to stand before
Officiant). May the radiance of this one light be a testimony of your love,

commitment and fidelity to one another, now and always.
