                                            PRAYERS and BLESSINGS

        (Please Note: The following is only a SAMPLING of possible prayers and blessings. There are countless ways
        to personalize any prayer or blessing for any couple)



        OPENING PRAYERS

            1.   Gracious God, you are always faithful in your love for us. Bless all those gathered here today, especially
               <Bride and Groom> who seek your blessing as they unite in marriage. Let your Spirit rest upon them so

               that with steadfast love they may honor the promises and vows made this day. Strengthen their love for
               each other, bless their marriage, their family, and the home they will make together. Amen.



            2.   God of Love, __________ and ___________ are now about to vow their unending loyalty to each other.
               We ask that you accept the shared treasure of their life together, which they now create and offer to You.

               Grant them everything they need in their life, and that they may increase in their knowledge of You
               throughout their marriage. In Love’s name we pray. Amen.



            3.  Dear God, as <Bride, Groom> begin this shared life together, look with favor upon them. Make it their

               purpose to serve each other, as they serve thee, in faith and love. Share in their gladness, and in their

               sadness, that they may always find strength in thee! Bless them today, Lord, bless them forever. Bless
               them every moment, bless every hope! By your sweet Spirit, pour out on them all that is pleasing to thy

               own heart. Amen.


        CLOSING PRAYERS and BLESSINGS

            1.  The Light of God surrounds us. The Love of God enfolds us. The Power of God protects us. The

               Presence of God watches over us. Wherever we are, God is; and all is well. Thank you, Father, Mother
               God. Amen


            2.  May the challenges of your life together be met with courage and optimism. May you learn from your

               difficulties and grow in your achievements. May you find joy in each other, in friends and family, and in

               your deep, abiding love for each other, and may Love abundantly bless you all of your days


            3.  Now, may the love that brought you together continue to enrich your lives. May the happiness you share

               today be with you always. And may every word you have pledged here be a living truth in your lives
