        Sharing the Quaich (pronounced “quake”)
(May be shared before or after your Marriage Vows and ring exchange with minor alterations to the wording)

Officiant, to couple: This Loving Cup (quaich) is symbolic of the pledges you have made to share the fullness of

life. As you all share the wine from the quaich, you pledge to share all that the future may bring. You acknowledge
to one another that your lives, separate until this moment, have now become one.

Photo from a Wedding I officiated at Zilker Park, Austin Texas)

All the sweetness life's cup may hold will be the sweeter because
you drink it together. Whatever drops of bitterness it may contain

will be less bitter because you share them. Those who drink deeply
from the quaich with an open heart and willing spirit, invite the full

range of challenges and experiences into their being. Drink now and

may the cup of your lives be sweet and full to running over.
(Bride and Groom sip from the quaich)

Officiant, to couple: As you have shared the wine from this quaich,
so may you share your lives. May you explore the mysteries of life

together and share in the reflection of love in one another's soul. May
you find life's joys heightened, life’s bitterness sweetened, and

everything enriched by your mutual sharing and trust.
