Celebrating Growth

It’s been said that there are three constants in
this world: death, taxes, and change. Indeed,
change is neither good nor bad, it is inevitable.
With change comes growth, an integral aspect
of life that transforms and molds us into our
best versions. As masters of our own fate,
we create our own definition of growth by acknowledging that the many facets of change encompass all our
significant experiences. These could very well be milestones we celebrate - from graduating from college to
transcending in our careers; or even overcoming breakups and stumbling through life’s every hurdle.
SPi Global has endeavored to integrate one-of-a-kind learning programs that cater to those with a deep thirst
and yearning for personal growth - people who step up to the plate to embrace the charge of change. With
first-hand experience as a Bronze medal graduate, I can say that the leadership program in SPi Global, gave
me the “altitude is attitude” mindset. Approaching every decision in life with utmost optimism sparked huge
changes in me; strengthened my empathy, respect, and love for others; invigorated my enthusiasm and dedi-
cation for work; provided intellectual and practical tactics for future endeavors; and instilled contentment and
gratefulness towards life in general.
This 2019, every employee’s expectations towards holistic development and career growth have been catapult-
ed to greater heights. Celebrating growth through VIA Talks and University NEXT, SPi Global promises to help
boost individuals towards reaching their career and personal aspirations. Set in a conducive learning environ-
ment, these programs aim to tap the leadership potentials in employees by cultivating new skills, recalibrating
their mindset into adopting a more global and widescale perspective, and honing their potentials to ultimately
transform them into future leaders.
Spearheaded by Noli Galgana, AVP for Leadership Development, VIA Talks
is an innovation-focused platform patterned after TED Talks. True enough,
this is one of the most sought-after events in SPi Global. Intellectually
stimulating and thought-provoking, an array of topics with countless
speakers delight and enlighten audiences across the enterprise. With 56
VIA Talks conducted for the first half of the year, with 20, 12, 24 for the
Philippines, India, and other countries respectively, the programme design
truly holds a lot of promise - able to reach out to a massive audience, with speakers shedding light on themes
that hit right at home. Talks like “Accepting Change,” by Robinson Copland, and “Continuous Learning” by Todd
Marquis Boutin were conducted in the US, for example.

More notable topics that resonated strongly with employees have also been tackled including SPi Global’s
values I AM MORE, with sessions on each value spread across global sites: “Integrity,” Yunior Esquivel,
Nicaragua; “Accountability,” Gao Tong, China; “Meritocracy,” Nguyen Duy Ninh, Vietnam; “Malasakit,” Yulisa
Hernandez, Nicaragua; and “Respect,” Lee Thi Thang, Vietnam.
As another fresh start, the rebranding of ASPIRE University also transpired in June: University NEXT, to offer
top-of-the-line professional leadership and develop program to all employees worldwide.

With its impeccable strategies on imparting leadership ideals to its students, University NEXT has “established
focused centers that will cater to the different skills and competencies for career advancements in the tech-
nology field.” To reinforce this transition, the global launch was a series of near-simultaneous events across all
locations, packed with floor activities and VIA Talk sessions to signal a major shift in the culture of SPi Global.
According to (include position) Kathleen Pua, “University Next champions the horizontal and vertical growth of
our employees.” Max Depree said, “We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.” Growth is an
essential part of our being. It is a driving force that propels us to constantly be at the top of our game.
Now what makes SPi Global DIFFERENT? In totality, SPI Global aims to promulgate further education through
growth-driven initiatives, coupled with dynamism and passion; fostering the transformative growth of employ-
ees, which paves the way to life-changing breakthroughs.
