Aerator gearbox

INTRODUCTION

Eurobadalla council, a shire located some 400 km s south west of
Sydney trialed N IS Tungsten

Disulphide spherical particles (IF-W S2) at an 8% concentration in
gear oil on two aerator units at one of their five water treatment
plants. The water plant dreads 9.5 million liters off fluent per day
servicing the tow ns in Eurobadalla shire. There are 25 aerators on
these plants and all25 units are now operating using gear oil
containing 8% IF-W S2. Each aerator holds about 30 liters of gear Environment
oil and careful monitoring will determine if oil life extensions are
possible to increase the financial benefits to the shire in addition to Extreme temperature regimes,
the energy saving of about 32,000 KW h pa, per aerator unit. humidity and presence of water
