In the initial phase, the “Thailand Post @ Thong Fah” service will offer drop-off points whereby customers prepare their parcels in advance, and hand them over to Thong Fah shop attendants who will scan the barcode on the parcels via the application to enter the parcels into the system and THP staff will then pick up the parcels. The service started in April 2024, and operates within the business hours of each Thong Fah shop. In the next phase, the service will provide both parcel drop-off points and pick up points for recipients. Due to this cooperation, THP total network will be over 50,000 points nationwide.
3. Transportation of Senate Member
Election Ballots 2024
THP, as the country’s main transportation agency, has been assigned a key mission by the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) to support and facilitate the election of Senators for the year 2024. This involves the transport of ballots and election materials for the 2024 Senate election, which will be conducted at three levels : district, provincial, and national. The elections took place on Sundays, 9, 16, and 26 June 2024, respectively. THP worked with the Royal Thai Police to transport ballots and election materials to 50 districts in Bangkok, 878 districts nationwide, 77 provinces, and at national level. The transport mission started on 31 May 2024 to southern and northeastern regions, on 1 June 2024 to central, eastern, and northern regions, and on 2 June 2024 to Bangkok and its vicinity. To ensure smooth and efficient operations, the ECT and THP have received cooperation from the Royal Thai Police, who has provided over 1,000 police vehicles installed with GPS tracking systems to ensure real-time monitoring of the transport process 24 hours a day. Moreover, the Highway Police cars led and ended the convoy, from the ECT’s coordination center to the provincial post offices and post
offices nationwide, ensuring the security, transparency, and trustworthiness of the transportation of ballots.
In addition, THP has set up the “2024 Senate Election Ballot Transport Coordination Center” at its headquarters. This center serves as the operation base for relevant agencies, overseeing the storage/ delivery Senate election ballots, as well as following, monitoring, controlling, and reporting the work of THP staff nationwide, to ensure the orderliness as required by the ECT.
