the peaceful co-existence of the minority. Whatever the
politically powerful will decide the powerless has to follow and
the voice of the voiceless is negated. Most of the times what
the politically and economically powerful majority with the
louder voice decide has nothing to do with the well-being of
the innocent or week. Even in our church context whatever the
powerful majority decide will be accepted by powerless minority
which will be most of the times wrong, unethical and unjust. We
never ponder about who will be benefited by whose cause. Most
of the times, we are not in a position to deal the issues in the
light of the scripture and the teaching of Jesus Christ before we
decide. But the cross of Christ challenges us not to be mindful
of majority or minority but the morality which is very much
important in order to be part of God’s rule. Even though Pilate
had to appease public hostility in his political agenda in order to
safeguard his position, he also had to fulfill his moral obligation
in the salvific act of God in the human history.
Prayer
Loving God, we thank you for your ways are higher than
ours. Help us to fulfill your will even at the cost of our own lives.
Help us to be delight in our words and actions so that we do not
drift away from our calling but follow the morality of the cross
that has the power to save us, Amen.
