A Train Station in the Hills
by Kayley Dao '25
Pitter-patter goes the rain.
Drumming along on the tiles.
The ivy grows on the rough terrain,
With rails going on for miles.
A train station sits atop a precipice made of
bamboo and spruce wood,
With tiles made of dark navy gray that recorded
the storms withstood.
The wooden stairs worn and rotting with gaps
where moss is clotting,
Are creaking and cracking in the crackling rain
while the old wooden fence wobbles behind
the porch.
This old train station, decrepit and antique
will never be used again.
