                                             ,  Balocci is a sub-district in the  Pang­
                                               kajene  Islands  Regency,  South  Su­
                                               lawesi,  Indonesia.  Its  area  reaches
                                               143.48 km2  or  12.90  percent  of the
                                               total area of Pangkep  Regency. Ad­
                                               ministratively, Balocci District is divid­
                                               ed  into  4  Kelurahan,  l  Village,  8
                                               Neighborhoods,  2  Hamlets,  25  RW,
                                               and83 RT.

         Sumpang Sita Prehistoric Park is administratively located in Sumpang Sita Vil­
         lage, Salocci Village, Salocci District, Pangkajene Islands Regency. This Prehistor­
         ic Park is included in the area of Santimurung-Sulusaraung National Park (TN -
         SASUL). In the Sumpang bita Prehistoric Park Complex, there are 2 prehistoric
         caves (leang) namely Sumpang Sita Cave and Sulu Sumi Cave, with an area of
         about 2 ha, which is divided into flat land and lime-stones mountains. The two
         caves are located in the Sulu Sita hill group. Currently, the Sumpang Sita Prehis­
         toric Park has been included in the inventory list of the South Sulawesi Cultural
         Heritage Preservation Center Site with inventory number 195 ..



         In the context of preserving Sum pang Bita Caves
        and Bulu Sumi Caves, the South Sulawesi Cultural
               Conservation Preservation Center in 1982
         at that time was still called the Sulselra Historical
                and Archaeological Heritage Sanctuary,
        conducted a site data collection in Balocci District,
          Pangkep Regency. The data collection revealed
              archaeological findings in the form of cave
                       wall paintings, mollusk shells,
                       plain and ornate earthenware
                      fragments as well as fragments
                         of human bones and teeth.
