Class Activity - PP1 - Gross Motor skills
“Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play, children learn how to learn”
– O.Fred Donaldson.
Children of PP1 participated in a variety of activities like crumpling newspaper into a
ball and aiming it into the basket; balancing plate/pillow on their head; picking bangle
using an ice cream stick, balancing and carrying the same to put it on the water bottle.
They also picked their toys one by one, then walked, hopped and ran to the other end
and placed them in the basket.
Working on gross motor skills helps a child gain strength and confidence in his/her
body. It also helps them to get exercise, which is important for a healthy lifestyle.
Developing these skills increases the child’s ability to do complex skills in future.
