Activity: Study of the stages of germination in a seed and documentation of the pictorial
observations of the same.
This activity was assigned to the students in order to induce germination in any
seed of their choice using moistened cotton wool in transparent tumblers. The students
had to soak the seeds of their choice and observe all the different changes happening
in the process of its germination right form the time of soaking of seeds till the
formation of a single pair of green leaves in the seedlings, day wise. They were asked
to document their observations pictorially in an A4 sized sheet day wise. This activity
induced the keen sense of observation of the stages of germination in a seed and
documenting the observed data pictorially using their creativity, which in turn helped
them to concretise the different changes happening in a seed during germination.

The students undertook this activity very enthusiastically and submitted their
observations by 07-07-2021. The students were able to get a better understanding of

this concept by performing a hands-on activity of the same.
