          Aksharabhyasam is a Sanskrit word. The word Akshara means ‘letters/
         alphabet’ and Abhyasam means ‘practice’. Aksharabhyasam means “the

         study of practical letters”.

         Aksharabhyasam is a traditional religious ceremony in which the child is

         given initiation of Education. It involves worship of Goddess Saraswati.

         4th June 2021, Friday was a special day for Sri Sri Ravishankar Bal Mandir

         Vidyaranyapura Bengaluru. It was the first day of school for the students
          of PP1. As the tradition of the school, Aksharabhyasa was conducted for
         our PP1 tiny tots. The parents along with their children participated with
         great enthusiasm and zeal.

         Our beloved Principal Smt. Mamatha Raviprakash welcomed the parents,

         children and teachers to this auspicious program.

         The program began with the prayer followed by the Guru Pooja by Sri.

         Raviprakash ji, the administrator at SSRVM Trust (Guru Puja is a traditional

         ceremony of expressing gratitude and honouring the lineage of spiritual
          Masters who have been the custodians of the knowledge of the Self).

          Aksharabhyasa Pooja was instructed by our Sanskrit HOD, Sri. Anantha
         Bhat, in a traditional way; He guided the parents to perform Ganesha Pooja
         and other rituals. Children were made to write on the Aksharabhyasa rice

         plates.  He  also  recited  the  shlokas  ‘Vakratunda  Mahakaya’,  ‘Saraswati
          Namastubhyam’, ‘Gurur Brahma’ and children repeated the same. Parents
         expressed their gratitude after the Pooja.


          Our  beloved  Principal  Smt.  Mamatha  Raviprakash,  Head  Mistress  Smt.
         Sabitha Shetty, Sanskrit HOD Sri. Anantha Bhat blessed and wished the
         best to our PP1 children.
