“Child labour perpetuates poverty,
unemployment, illiteracy, population growth,
and other social problems” - Nobel prize
winner Kailash Satyarthi
Today, throughout the world, around 218 million
children work, many full-time. They do not go to
school and have little or no time to play. Many do
not receive proper nutrition or care. The World
Day Against Child Labour was observed by the
students of Std IX who discussed the plight and
endangerment of a child labourer. An award-
winning short animated video on child labour
was also shown followed by power point
on the
presentation by students which focused
impact of the crisis on child labour. Students also
expressed their views and thoughts on
eradication of child labour.
