Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure the curriculum design includes the necessary learning
environment criteria.

Responsibilities

I5O Consulting Services is responsible for establishing and reviewing the curriculum design for all
learning events in the learning environment.

Procedures

I5O Consulting uses a standard design template for our online certification courses. This design
ensures that there is a consistent look and feel to all classes. This conforms to the best practices for
online course development.
The standard design protocol includes:

 Each course must contain learning/program outcomes
 Each course must have multimedia material (PowerPoint Presentations, Videos, Web links,
etc.)
 Supplemental materials (if any) is provided
 Assignments are included in a clearly marked, separate section
These design features ensure:

 The learner has consistent navigation flow between modules (Learner‐to‐content)
 The learning management system (Moodle) has multiple built‐in communication methods
that allow easy interaction for learner‐to‐instructor and learner‐to‐learner (via discussion
boards, chat, system emails, etc.)

These features are part of the standard course design template for each course that is created.
