Jumpstart

                               • Jumpstart is a quick and focused project that is designed to deliver

significant results within a short period of time. The goal of a
Jumpstart is to demonstrate the potential benefits of Six Sigma

methodologies and to build momentum for further improvement

efforts. Do not use Jumpstart for sweeping changes or attempt to

improve processes that could seriously impact the bottom line.

                               • One example of a Jumpstart in Six Sigma is a project to reduce the

time it takes to process customer orders in a call center. The team

might begin by analyzing the current process and identifying areas of

waste and inefficiency. They might then implement quick and simple

changes, such as eliminating unnecessary steps, streamlining the

workflow, and improving communication between team members.
