Pareto Analysis

• Joseph Juran wrote 20% of people own 80% of the land.

• Of all the clothes in your closet, you wear 20% of the outfits, 80% of the

time.

• A company that receives a high number of customer complaints may use

Pareto Analysis to identify the most common types of complaints. They

could create a Pareto Chart to show the frequency of each type of

complaint, with the most frequent complaints on the left side and the

less frequent complaints on the right side. This would allow the

company to focus their efforts on the issues that have the greatest
impact on customer satisfaction.
