History of 6σ?

       • Carl Friedrich Gauss was a German

mathematician and physicist who lived in

the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

       • He worked on statistics and probability

theory that laid the foundation for many

of the statistical methods and tools used

           in Six Sigma today.

       • One of Gauss's most important

contributions to statistics is the concept

of the normal distribution, also known as
           the Gaussian distribution.
