Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to address the ownership of materials prepared and utilized for
the certification program(s).

Policy Statements

All materials that go into the design and development of courseware for I5O certificate
programs become the property of I5O. Work performed in the design and development is

“work for hire” and thus ownership resides exclusively with I5O for any materials developed.

For programs hosted by I5O on our systems, the contracting organization must submit an
intellectual property statement to I5O so that we can include in our records. I5O assumes no
ownership or responsibility for contractually hosted materials.

All copyrighted materials for courses owned by I5O are used either by expressed permission

or are provided for under “fair use” guidelines. For material provided by outside vendors for
hosting on our site, I5O assumes no responsibilities for verifying compliance, nor does it
warrant compliance. Liability for compliance with copyright laws resides with the vendor who
provides the material for hosting on our system.
