Background
















         Guilford County’s Register of Deeds independently recognized that there was a need for an

         assessment to ensure that operations are executed efficiently.  The agency was proactive in

         pursuing a variety of measures to “right size” its operations so that it may continue to be a great

         steward of the State dollars.  I5O Consulting Services’ approach was to view this engagement in

         three-parts consisting of business redesign around process, people, and technology.  On June 10,

         2020, Guilford County’s Register of Deeds engaged I5O Consulting Services to assess their

         agency key operational processes.  I5O Consulting Services identified several excellent policies,

         procedures, and best practices at Guilford County Register of Deeds regarding transactional

         processes. We examined numerous transactions to determine the effectiveness of Guilford

         County’s ROD control over maintaining and governing the integrity of transactions.  We also

         identified recommendations that warrant tighter controls of processes.
