I had the opportunity to spend three days at the Hil-
ton Rosemont in Chicago as a participant in The
LCI ADVANCED LIONS LEADERSHIP IN- Advanced Lions Leadership Institute. The class com-
STITUTE prised 150 Lions from different districts in USA,
Chicago, Nov 2-4, 2019 Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Lion Patricia Mehacha The intensive seminar included lessons on the funda-
East Elmhurst Columbia Lions Club mentals of leadership, which helped us to identify
and analyze our administrative strengths and weak-

with efficiency and effectiveness and impactful dele-

Lion Dr. Paulett Kenwood resolution skills and how to prepare and present im-
Lion Mark De Varel portant information to clubs. We surveyed the rele-
Lion J. Mike Yansen vance of LCIF and its availability for funding
(All four from Brooklyn Crown Heights) through various grants. We even launched a Face-
book page to sustain communication among the
Lion Geraldine Kingston participants.

The culminating activity was a celebration dinner, at
which the Tail Twister, (a veteran who lost his leg at
Lion Peggy Girtman-Atkins
Lion Mirle Gillard war), created a fun game that netted $1700 donation
(Both from Brooklyn Midwood) to LCIF, from our 2019-2020 class.
As a result of this experience, I have recognized my
Lion Estline Green
Brooklyn Vanderveer Park / Glenwood leadership strengths. I can facilitate and encourage
other Lions to be more assertive with personal and

goal oriented. These characteristics are important
